Dr. Thomas Patrick LeTard, Sr., 59, of Biloxi, Mississippi, passed from this life on Saturday, December 2, 2017. Dr. LeTard was a long-time resident of the Mississippi Gulf Coast. He graduated high school from St. Martins in Metairie, Louisiana, and attended Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana where he received his undergraduate degree and a Masters in Microbiology. He received his Doctorate of Medicine from Louisiana State University at Shreveport and completed his residency training under his father Dr. Francis X. LeTard Sr., in Anesthesiology at Ochsner Foundation Hospital in New Orleans. Dr. LeTard was board certified in Anesthesiology and practiced for 30 years as a partner with Gulfport Anesthesia Services. Dr. LeTard was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on February 12, 1958, and is preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Francis Xavier LeTard, Sr., and Evelyn Bridges LeTard. Survivors include his loving wife, Martha Collins LeTard; four children, Rachel Collins LeTard (Rory), Thomas Patrick LeTard, Jr., Collin Dale LeTard, and Meghan Rose LeTard; three siblings, Francis Xavier LeTard, Jr. (Judy), Philip Alan LeTard, Sr. (Angela), and Denise LeTard McGhee (Mike), and numerous nieces and nephews. He was an active member of the St. James Catholic Church and greatly enjoyed playing drums with his church worship band, On A Wing And A Prayer, as well being a member of the Gulf Coast Gridiron Club, Gulfport Wine Society, the ElliptiGO Century Club and served on the board of the Gulfport Yacht Club as Fleet Surgeon. He was a loving husband, father, and friend who will be missed by all who knew him. A very special thank you to the Ochsner Hospital team (Dr. Marcus Ware, Dr. Mark Matrana, Erin Pierce, and Lorrie Erario), Memorial Oncology team (Dr. Olivia Hightower, Julie Prescott, R.N.) Special thanks also to the wonderful staff at Saad's Hospice (Dorothy Dunning, Sandra Robertson, Sharon Lacy, Beau Underwood, Tina Rackley, Mark Harris, Sarah Rumery, Vicki O'Bryant, Ashley Lewis) and to Angela LeTard, N.P. In lieu of flowers please make donations to The Tommy LeTard Cancer Fund. Please make checks payable to Bacot McCarty Foundation at P.O. Box 1442 Pascagoula, MS 39567. Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 5, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m., with a 7:30 p.m. Rosary, at St. James Catholic Church. Mass will be held Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. at St. James Catholic Church. Friends may visit one hour prior. Interment will be held at a later date at Biloxi City Cemetery.
