Mr. Thomas (Pop) R. Longon died Friday, November 29, 2013 in Ocean Springs, MS.
Thomas was born in Biloxi and was raised on the Point in Biloxi. He graduated from Biloxi High and continued his education at the University of Southern Miss. Thomas also served in the Air National Guard for several years.
He retired from Chevron Refinery in Pascagoula, MS. Thomas enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, watching the kids play ball, especially his son, Jason and grandson, Corey. He also enjoyed playing golf with his friends and his son, Jason and watching ball games on TV.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Berrie and Nora Hebert Longon; his sister, Noreen Longon Rambish; and his son, Jason Longon.
Thomas is survived by his wife of 47 years, JoAnn Vassalli Longon; his daughter, Angela Longon Casey; grandchildren, Katelynn Marie Casey and Corey Jacob Casey, all of Ocean Springs, MS; his sisters, Joyleen and Dennis Seymour of Ocean Springs and Brenda and Lloyd Huber of Waveland; his brother-in-law, Louie and Lorena Vassalli of Ocean Springs; as well as many nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home where friends may visit 2 hours prior to the service.
