Timothy “Timmy” Michael Fester, age 47, passed away at his home in Latimer, MS on Tuesday, February 11, 2014. Timmy battled cancer for over two years with great faith and courage. He has a Golden Ticket to Heaven and will be received with open arms. Timmy died with his family and friends at his side. Timmy loved to travel, bowling, square dancing and going to family functions. He also enjoyed his church family at Church of the King. Timmy was born in at Keesler AFB Hospital in Biloxi and he graduated from Biloxi High School in 1987. Timmy belonged to many groups and traveled the country and he was very active in his community. Timmy belonged to the Special Olympics Bowling League, The Alley Cats, where he was high scorer for many years. He also belonged to the Cheshire Promenaders Square Dancing Group in Gulfport. In 1995 Timmy received an invitation to compete in the World Special Olympic Games in New Haven, CT. He was a student at Harvard University for two weeks while competing in the games. Timmy won a Silver Medal in Bowling. He was the Employee of the Year in 1993 for KSI Industries in Dover, DE. Timmy belonged to Chimes of DE, Employee of the Quarter and nominated Employee of the Year in 2010 for Goodwill Industries of South MS. He was a member of Church of the King. In lieu of flowers, Timmy’s family prefers donations be made to the Alley Cats Bowling League, c/o Dean Oliver, 15043 Hudson-Krohn Rd. Biloxi, MS 39532. Timmy’s family wants to thank Dr. Brian Pershing and his staff for the great care and love that they gave Timmy through his treatments and also to all of the doctors and nurses at Ocean Springs Hospital for their loving care. Also, a special thank you to Hospice of Light. Timmy is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Margaret Fester; his brother, Robert Fester; paternal grandparents, Joseph Fester and Edna Owens Williams; maternal grandparents, James and Dominica Azzera Russell; great-nephew, Christopher Herrman; and brother-in-law, Roy B. Cuevas. Timmy is survived by his brothers, William F. Fester (Jeanette) of Latimer and Robert K. Fester (Debbie) of Milford, DE; and his sister, Edna Bond (David) of Perkinston; his nephews, Curtis Trosclair, Chris Kerr and Robert Brown; his nieces, Danielle Herrman, Natalie Brown and Heather Trosclair; six great-nieces; and one great-nephew. Funeral Services will be held at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home on Sunday February 16, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. Friends may visit from 1:00 p.m. until service time. Interment will follow at Vancleave #1 Cemetery.
