Valentine "Valine" Provost

Valentine “Valine” Provost Dudley, age 94, of Ocean Springs, MS, died Friday, October 18, 2013. Valine was born on February 14, 1919, in Cardiff, AL, grew up in Mobile, AL and raised her children in Ocean Springs, MS with her husband, Jack. She spent the last 30+ years in Sunnyvale, CA, living with her son, Stephen and returning to Ocean Springs last year. She returned to the First Presbyterian Church of Ocean Springs. Her joys in life were her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sewing, painting, arranging flowers and her faith in God. Valine was preceded in death by her parents, Hermia and Sterling Provost, sister, Katie Atkins, brother, William Provost, husband, John “Jack” Joseph Dudley, and son, John Sterling Dudley. Survivors include daughters, Carole Valentine Kean (Clay), Seattle, WA, Lynne Davis (Jimmy) Ocean Springs, MS and Jacki K. Dudley, Sunnyvale, CA., sons, David Provost Dudley, Sr., Ocean Springs, MS and Stephen Dudley, Sunnyvale, CA. daughter-in-law, Judy Dudley, Vancleave, MS. 9 grandchildren and 10 great- grandchildren. Visitation will be on Thursday, October 24, 2013, from 10am until 11am, with an 11 am church service, all at the First Presbyterian Church of Ocean Springs. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
