Valerie Kathleen Nelson

Valerie Kathleen Nelson, age 71 of Gulfport, MS passed away on Thursday, February 8, 2018. Valerie was born on April 2, 1946 in Biloxi, MS. She graduated from Biloxi High School and worked at Borden Co. and the Isle of Capri Casino. She loved and enjoyed gardening, her pets Otis and Molly and fishing. She is preceded in death by her parents, Emma Schmidt Clark and Charles Clark, Jr.; and by her loving husband of 37 years, Marshal H. Nelson. Survivors include her sister, N. Jackie Hunt. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at St. Joseph Hospice for their care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer memorials to be made to the American Cancer Society. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at 10am on the south-side of Biloxi City Cemetery. The Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
