Velma Horton May, 83, of Biloxi, died Wednesday, July 18, 2012 in Biloxi
She was born in Midnight , Miss. and was a longtime resident of the Gulf Coast.
Her family owned and operated May’s Grocery on 28th St., Gulfport from 1967 until 1999. Mrs. May loved traveling, fishing, crabbing, gardening, and doll collecting.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert May, Sr.; a daughter, Dora Lynn May; a son, Jimmy Lee May; a sister, Mary Jane Skogg; and a brother, Raymond Horton.
She is survived by a daughter, Anita Easterwood; five sons, Robert Easterwood, Roy Easterwood, Hubert “Hutch” May Jr., Howard May and Kenneth May; two sisters, Mildred Amacker and Frankie Vincent; brothers, Ray Horton and Johnny “Buddy” Horton; seventeen grandchildren and twenty-eight great-grandchildren.
The funeral service is Saturday, July 21, 2012 at 12:00 p.m. at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, O’Neal Road, Gulfport where friends may visit beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment
will follow at Saucier Cemetery.
