Vennie Corine Cates Bosarge

Mrs. Vennie Corine Cates Bosarge, 100 years old, born August 20, 1913, died Tuesday, July 15, 2014, at home with her family. She was a member of Bonnie Chapel United Methodist Church in Vancleave and the Eastern Star, Daisy Vestry Chapter #381, in Vancleave, MS. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Elizabeth Myers and Stewart Calhoun Cates, her husband of 60 years, Clarence Bosarge, daughter Zelma Bond (Pat), grandsons John Blalock and Dexter Williams and sister Ophelia Delancey (Howard). Survivors include her children Gerald Bosarge (Beth), of Vancleave, Shirley Blalock (Chester), of Gautier, Marjorie Williams (Arlen), of Woolmarket, Douglas Bosarge (Charlotte) of Vancleave, and Veronica Seymour (Cecil) of Latimer, and sister Leona Kates, of Larue, 23 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank caregivers Patty Williams and Patsy Mallett, and Hospice of Light for their excellent and loving care. Visitation will be on Saturday, July 19, from 10 am until 12 noon, with a 12 noon church service, all at Bonnie Chapel UMC. Burial will follow in Vancleave #2 Cemetery. The Vancleave Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
