Vera Ann “Beetsy” Randazzo, age 93, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 in D’Iberville, in the presence of family. She was born October 1, 1923, in the house which came to be known as the Fisherman’s Cottage, on Biloxi Back Bay. Beetsy, a 1942 graduate of Sacred Heart Academy, gracefully survived the loss of her long-time home and belongings to Katrina then relocated to Ocean Springs for several years. An avid card player, she joined her canasta club weekly and frequently visited the casinos.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry J. Randazzo, Sr.; parents, Walter C. Fountain and Winnie Diaz Fountain; siblings, Marjorie Fountain, Elwood Fountain, Walter F. Fountain, Clarice Fountain Mozara, Mary Fountain Grantham Cochran and Robert Fountain; son-in-law, Steve Pitalo; grandson, John Randazzo Jr.; and great grandson, Dillyn Baldock.
She is survived by her children, Henry “Randy” Randazzo (Ann) of Arlington, VA, Linda Pitalo of Biloxi, John Randazzo of Jackson, and Lisa Ziz (Jeff) of Biloxi; 9 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren. She is also survived by brothers, Gerald Fountain and Charles (Ronnie) Fountain; and many nieces and nephews.
The family expresses special thanks and appreciation to Carol Redmond, caregiver, and Pallabium Hospice. In lieu of flowers the family requests that any remembrances be provided to Society of St. Vincent de Paul, Sacred Heart Church, D’Iberville, MS.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Friday, June 16, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. Friends many visit 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery. The Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
