Verna Mae Rosetti, 91, passed away January 13, 2015 in Biloxi after a brief battle with cancer.
Verna was born October 29, 1923 in Biloxi, MS where she remained a lifelong resident. She married her husband Vick on December 22, 1940 in Biloxi, MS at St. Michael Catholic Church. After raising her children, she began working at Creative Learning Day Care, where she worked for 25 years. Verna has been a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Woolmarket since Hurricane Katrina, and loved going to church there. She always dressed with everything matching – earrings, shoes, purse, and colored pillows for her back at Church to match her outfit.
Mom loved watching football, golf, and Wheel of Fortune on T.V. After Mass on Saturday night, Mom enjoyed her outing with her daughter, Ann, to the casino. Mom enjoyed the holidays with all her family.
Verna was preceded in death by her loving husband of 54 years, Vincent T. “Vick” Rosetti, Jr.; her mother, Ernestine “Teeny” Tiblier Manuel; father, Louis J. Manuel; son-in-law, Mike Leleux; brothers, Elbert Manuel, Leroy Manuel and Wilfred Manuel; and sisters, Audrey Murray and Lois Landry.
She is survived by children, Josephine (Floyd) Thibodeaux, Vicki Leleux, Ann (Byron) Boyden, Rusty (Marsha) Rosetti, and Rhonda (Wendell) Bergeron; grandchildren, Yvette (Mark) Fountain, Floyd Thibodeaux Jr. (Rene’ Kennon – fiancé), Josette (Mickey) Dutil, Mike (Isabel) Leleux, Jr., Eddie (Michelle) Leleux, Ashley (Chris) Anderson, Jason Rosetti, Matthew Rosetti, Nick (Kaylin) Cruise, and Jacob Bergeron; great-grandchildren, Blake Thibodeaux, Marissa Thibodeaux, Leah Dutil, Dane Dutil, Amelia Leleux, Trey Leleux, Vince Leleux, Alexia Leleux, Chelsie Boyden, Dylan Anderson, and Allyssa Rosetti; and brother, Wilbur Manuel.
The family would like to thank Saad Hospice and Dr. Regina Mills and her staff for the excellent care given to our mom.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to St. Vincent de Paul Society at St. Mary’s Parish, 8343 Woolmarket Road, Biloxi, MS 39532.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church on Friday, January 16, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. Friends may visit from 9:30 a.m. until the mass. Burial will follow at Biloxi City Cemetery. The Pallbearers will be Floyd Thibodeaux, Jr., Mike Leleux, Jr., Eddie Leleux, Jason Rosetti, Matthew Rosetti, Nick Cruise, and Jacob Bergeron. The Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
