Mr. Victor S. "Vic" Chiolak, age 81, of Biloxi, MS, died Thursday, February 13, 2014, in Biloxi.
Mr. Chiolak was born in Chicago, IL and had been a longtime resident of the MS Gulf Coast. He was a Retired U. S. Air Force Master Sergeant with 22 years, 9 months and 9 days of service. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict and Vietnam during which time he was the recipient of many meritorious awards and citations. He received an Associates Degree in Safety Technology from the Community College of the Air Force and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Technology from Southern Illinois University. After his retirement from the military he was employed with civil service at Keesler AFB until he retired as the safety manager. He was a champion swimmer in high school and an avid fisherman.
Mr. Chiolak was preceded in death by his parents, Stefan and Anastasia Chiolak, and his brother, Mike Childs. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Yvonne C. Chiolak; his son, Victor R. Chiolak of Vancover, WA; two daughters, Carol Mullins of Gulfport, and LaRae Pertuis of Florida; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 20, 2014, at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, 2511 Pass Road, in Biloxi where friends may visit one hour before service time. Interment is 1:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 24, 2014, at Biloxi National Cemetery with full military honors.
