Virginia Beatrice Ritchie Krebs, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend, passed away on June 29, 2014 in her home surrounded by her loving family. Ginny, as she was known to most of her friends was born on November 12, 1926 in Camden, New Jersey to Clarence Wilson Ritchie and Beatrice Conner Ritchie.
She lived her childhood and early adult years in New Jersey, and then moved to Miami, FL where she was introduced to her future husband, George. They were married August 20, 1949 in Miami.
Always eager to pack her suitcase, she enjoyed traveling in the U.S. and Europe. Her passion for bird watching provided her many hours of delight. A talented artist, she enjoyed working in various mediums as well as creating beautiful porcelain dolls. Having a giving heart, Ginny donated many of her dolls and pieces of artwork to various charitable organizations.
A resident of Biloxi for almost fifty years, Ginny enjoyed a community of loving, caring and close friends. She was a member of J. T. Leggett United Methodist Church and active in their Thursday night Bible-study group. Ginny was a member of various Gulf Coast art associations and an honorary member of the Jewish Congregation of Diamond Head, MS.
She is survived by her immediate family consisting of her husband, George Joseph Krebs; and children, Tom (Margarite) W. Krebs, George (Lisa) Krebs, Cathy (Bill) Truscott, J.D. (Larry) Krebs and Karen (Ned, Jr.) Peresich.
A memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe, where friends may visit 1 hour prior.
