Wallace Henry Andrews, Sr., 88, of Gautier, MS, died on Monday, December 17, 2012.
Mr. Andrews was a native of Biloxi and a resident of Gautier for the past 66 years. An active partner with his wife, they established, owned and operated Mary Walker Marina in Gautier for over 50 years. He was a loving husband, father, businessman and a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Gautier. He, along with his wife, was a nurturing uncle to his many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews.
Mr. Andrew’s is preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Rita Louise Andrews; his parents, Wallace and Hazel Parkis Andrews; and his sister, Elizabeth Lechner.
Survivors include his son, Wallace H. Andrews, Jr. and his friend, Bob Aquilino of Alexandria, VA; his sister, Hazel Farrell; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Margaret and Dan Scott, Larry Dubaz and Anna Jo Wentzell; numerous nieces and nephews, including special care givers, Mary Alice and Jesse Kanode; great-nieces and nephews; his loving pet, Charlie; and his longtime, loyal employee, affectionately known as “Little Boy”.
The family wishes to thank all of the staff at Ocean Springs Nursing Center for the loving care given to “Uncle Wally” for the past two years.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Gautier on Monday, December 31, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. Friends may visit from 9:00 a.m. until Mass time.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations be made to St. Vincent De Paul.
The Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
