Warren Edward Hitchcock, beloved husband and father passed away Thursday, October 13, 2016 at Garden Park Hospital surrounded by his wife and friends. He was born in Bridgeport, CT and had been a resident of Gulfport for fourteen years. Mr. Hitchcock was a Mountaineer body builder and owned a gymnasium in Boston, MA.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II and retired in 1964 in Texas. He received the following awards and medals: Efficiency Honor Fidelity, American Defense Medal, American Campaign, Asiatic, Atlantic and Pacific Campaign, National Defense, Army Occupation, and World War II Medal. He also received a Remember Pearl Harbor December 7, 1941 Honor from a representative of the U.S. Congress.
He is survived by his wife of thirty-eight years, Perla Consus Hitchcock; a daughter, Wendy Havarty and husband, Dusty; and son, Steven Hitchcock.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at Garden Park hospital for their care.
The graveside will be held Thursday, October 20, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. at Biloxi National Cemetery with military honors by the U.S. Army.
