Wesley 'Wes" Eugene Henson

Wesley “Wes” Eugene Henson, age 58, of Biloxi, passed away on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 surrounded by his family and loved ones. Wes was born in Escambia County, Pensacola, Florida on September 18, 1959, the oldest son of Audrey Faye (Haynes) and Marvin Thomas Henson, Sr. He graduated from High School in White Plains, Alabama, class of 1979. He joined the United States Army in March of 1980, was stationed in Europe, and spent the majority of his time in Germany. Wes has spent the last 22 years as a resident of the Mississippi Gulf Coast. For the past 19 years (since they opened in 1999) he has been employed of the Beau Rivage Casino in Biloxi. He was an avid reader of Louis L’amour westerns, a serious collector of GI Joe action figures and Star Wars memorabilia. He and his whole family are die-hard Alabama fans. One of his great nephews said “Roll Tide” before he said “mama”. He is preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Thomas Ray Henson of Lineville, Alabama. He is survived by his best friend of 28 years and the mother of his children, Doranne McKibben of Biloxi; daughters, Jessica (Allen) House of Savannah, Georgia and Erieanne (Charles) Gray of D’Iberville, Mississippi; granddaughter, Audreylyne of Savannah, Georgia; sisters, Samantha (Paul) Wyer of Anniston, Alabama and Faye Henson of St. Martin, Mississippi; brother, Russell (Wendy) Henson of Alexandria, Alabama and Avery (Candy) Henson of St, Martin, Mississippi; his siblings from his father’s first marriage, sisters Linda Davis of Plant City, Florida and Patricia Henson of Rhode Island and brothers Marvin Thomas Hengen, Jr and Robert (Diana) Henson both of Plant City, Florida; and numerous nieces and nephews; and great nieces and great nephews. The family wishes to extend their heart felt thank you to the doctors and nurses of the ICU at Merit Health System for their excellent and compassionate care of Wes. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Wes’ name to the DAV, PO Box 14301, Cincinnati, Ohio 45250. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at the Biloxi National Cemetery. The Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
