Wilfred Lafayette "Larry" Powell

Wilfred Lafayette “Larry” Powell, Jr., age 71, passed away on Sunday, April 12, 2015. Wilfred, more commonly known as Larry, was a United States Army Veteran. He was employed with Southern Company’s Mississippi Power, retiring after 40 years, 4 months and 10 days. He is preceded in death by his son, Michael Anthony “Tony” Powell; and parents, Wilfred L. Powell, Sr. and Dovie Tynes Powell. Survivors include his wife, Charlene Powell; children, Lydia Powell Sales, Patrick Torrey Powell, Sr., Tina and Thomas Franklin; brother, John Gary Powell; grandchildren; and great grandchildren. Services will be held on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home at 1:30 p.m. Friends may visit from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Interment will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery with military honors.
