Winona Aldred Carpenter, age 94, passed away Sunday, August 10, 2014. She was born in Statesboro, GA and was a lifelong resident of Biloxi. She was an outstanding elementary school teacher, music teacher, and a Sunday school teacher. She was so loving and willing to do for others.
She is preceded in death by husband, Marion Lee “Prof” Carpenter; and sister, Helen Aldred.
Survivors include her four children, Nona Alvis, Sherrie Pomierski, Lee Carpenter, and Kathi Daniel; five grandchildren, Kelli Pomierski, Joe Pomierski, Jenna Daniel, Troy Daniel, and Brice Daniel; two step grandchildren, Jerry Alvis and Chuck Alvis; and two great grandchildren, Grayson and Gavin. She will be deeply missed.
