Yvonne Watson Bates

Yvonne Watson Bates, 77, of Ocean Springs, MS passed away a 1:50 pm on Thursday, September 8, 2016 at the Ocean Springs Nursing Home of Alzheimer’s. Ms. Bates was born September 27, 1938 to George William and Frances Bertha Nolen Watson. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, putting puzzles together and Cruisin’ the Coast. She worked at P.F.G.’s and was of the Baptist faith. She is preceded in death by her parents; 2 sisters; 2 brothers; and her ex-husband, Charles E. Bates, Sr. Ms. Bates’ survivors include her sons, Rodney (Karen) Bates of Gautier and Charles E. (Leslie) Bates, Jr. of Saucier; her daughters, Stacey (Mark) Carroll of D’Iberville and Tammy (Todd) Holland of Vancleave; her loving sister, Carolyn Jennings of Kellyton, AL; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. A Graveside Service will be held at D’Iberville Memorial Park on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at 10:30 am. The Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
