Alan Ray Mallett Sr., age 82, passed away on Tuesday, May 21, 2019.
Mr. Mallett was a native and lifelong resident of Ocean Springs and was a U.S. Navy veteran. He retired from Singing River Power Company and was a longtime parishioner of St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ottman R. Mallett and Verilee Hartfield Mallett and son-in-law, George Gaither.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Wilda Catchot Mallett, daughters, Darleen Gaither, Teresa (Patrick) Quave and Ida (Rick) Snell, son, Alan Ray Mallett Jr., brother, Phillip Mallett, twelve grandchildren, Jonathan Quave, Jeremy Quave, Kimberly Woods, Joshua Gaither, Aaron Gaither, Kristopher Woods, K.C. Mallett, Cody Mallett, Kristy Creamer, Haylea Creamer, Ronnie Creamer and Tasha Creamer and fourteen great-grandchildren.
The family would especially like to thank Mr. Clyde Beckham, a longtime, childhood friend of our fathers, for all the love, care and compassion shown and for always being there.
Visitation will be on Friday, May 24, from 12 noon until 1pm, with a 1pm chapel service, all at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Peter Mallett Cemetery in Saucier, MS.
In lieu of flowers the family prefers donations be made to the American Cancer Society, 417 Security Square, Gulfport, MS. 39507.
