Alvin Abel McDonnell

Alvin Abel McDonnell, age 55 and a lifelong resident of Biloxi, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 15, 2020 in Biloxi. Mr. McDonnell retired from Biloxi Public Schools. He loved to fish and especially spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his sons, Jeffrey McDonnell and Nathan McDonnell; his father, Chief John Michael McDonnell, Sr.; his brother, Hebert Jude McDonnell; his grandparents, Rudy Balius, Don and Joyce Wright and Mamie and Alvin McDonnell; and his uncles, Jude McDonnell and Tommy McDonnell. Mr. McDonnell leaves behind his son, Dustin McDonnell; his daughters, Chelsea (Jessie) Gallardo and Rachel McDonnell; his mother, Bronwyn (David) Delancey; his brothers, Mike (Liz) McDonnell and David (Karianne) Delancey; his sisters, Tabitha (Darrell) Wescovich, Selina McDonnell and Jessica Preston; five grandchildren, Andrew and Wyatt McDonnell, Ryan and Madison Gallardo and Jayla Hamby; and his best friend, Mark Mattina. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations be made in Mr. McDonnell's memory to the Humane Society of South Mississippi, 2615 25th Avenue, Gulfport, MS 39501. A Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, September 19, 2020 at Biloxi City Cemetery. Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home is honored to serve this family.
