Barry Rodney “Hot Rod” Faulkner, age 62, of Gulfport, MS, passed away Sunday, August 23, 2020, in Gulfport. He was born in Columbus, MS and had been a longtime resident of the Mississippi Gulf Coast. He formerly worked as a construction foreman until he became disabled in 2016. Hot Rod valued spending time with his family and friends. He was a master at grilling. Next to his favorite pass time of fishing he adored riding his motorcycle and coaching soft ball. Hot Rod was a quiet sort of fellow, but a solid rock for his family and friends. He will be greatly missed.
Hot Rod was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Elvis Faulkner; brother, Dempsey Faulkner and two nephews, Yancy Dyer and Todd Dyer. He is survived by his wife, the love of his life, Mari Jo Anderson Faulkner; two daughters, Hailey Faulkner and Meghan Faulkner; step daughter, Carolyn (Mendon) Weidner; and his son, T J Faulkner; his sister, Sandra Boone; and four grandchildren, Kensley Faulkner, Keera Weidner, Aaliyah Weidner and Serenity Weidner. He is also survived by his devoted pet, Lucy.
Memorial services will be held Thursday, August 27, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, 2511 Pass Road, in Biloxi where friends may visit one hour before service time.
