Mr. Burton Shoemaker, age 86, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, November 4, 2017.
Burton was born on March 19, 1931 in Vancleave, MS. He graduated from D’Iberville High School and served in the U.S. Army. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 34 years. Burton was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Biloxi where he was a Sunday School teacher. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, bowling and camping in his spare time.
Burton is preceded in death by his parents, Tony R. and Mary Jane Shoemaker; son, Randy B. Shoemaker; and brothers, James and Larry Shoemaker.
He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia J. (Wieck) Shoemaker; son, Matthew A. (Dodie L.) Shoemaker; grandson, Matthew A. Shoemaker, Jr.; sister, Agnes Tanner; and brother, Tony Shoemaker, Jr.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, November 9, 2017 at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home from 9:30 a.m. until service time at 11:00 a.m. A graveside service will follow at Biloxi City Cemetery. Pallbearers will include: Ken Dellenger, Kyle Carron, Mike Wieck, Mikel Shoemaker, Dean Perkins, Wade Krohn and Kevin Shoemaker.
