Can and Mai Nguyen

Can and Mai Nguyen, ages 63 and 60, passed away on December 1, 2020. Can was born July 12, 1957 in Phu Quoc, Vietnam. Mai was born January 28, 1960 in Da Nang, Vietnam. They both left Vietnam at a young age to come to America for a better life. As fate would have it, they met in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and would soon marry. To this union their first child was born, Tammie. Mai did not like the very cold winters there, so Can moved his family to Panama City, Florida, where their oldest son Albert would be born. They later moved to Pascagoula, Mississippi, where their youngest son Calven was born. They were happily married for over 40 years. It was in Mississippi that Can found his passion for fishing and shrimping. He loved the water. They both loved their family and their children. Their six grandchildren were their heart, and Mai loved cooking and caring for them. They are preceded in death by their parents and two brothers. They leave to cherish their memories three children, Tammie (David) Nguyen, Albert (Decarea-MeMe) Nguyen, Calven (Courtney) Nguyen, and six grandkids, Ariana, Tristan, Calven Jr., R’Mani, Kamryn, and Logan. They are also survived by brother Cao Van (Thi Nhai) Nguyen and sister Tu Nguyen.
