Catherine “Peaches” Fountain, 86, lifelong resident of St. Martin, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, September 6, 2018.
Peaches was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt.
Peaches graduated from St. Martin High School in 1951 and was voted Miss St. Martin High School during her senior year. The majority of her early years were devoted to being a loving wife and mother. She belonged to the St. Martin Home Extension Club for many years for which she served as President. She also served on the Jackson County Fair Board and, in later years, she was a member of the Young at Heart Club. She also recently enjoyed informal weekly chit-chat sessions that were held at Whataburger with several lady friends and family.
Peaches was an inspiration and blessing to all who had the privilege to know her. Her life was lived with beauty and grace and she was loved dearly by so many.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Buck and Lottie Seymour, and grandson, Clint Fountain.
Peaches is survived by her sweetheart and husband of sixty-seven years, Kenneth J. Fountain; son, Art Fountain and his wife Connie; son, Mark Fountain and his wife Susan; son, Rod Fountain and his wife Nancy; son, Hal Fountain and his wife Karen; daughter, Penny Daugherty and her husband Vincent; ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three sisters, Lynette Campbell and her husband Kenneth; Christine Fleenor and her husband James; and Celestine Dumais and her husband Bernard; many nieces, nephews, and friends.
