Charles “Chuck” Arthur Collmer of Pascagoula, MS, passed away on January 15, 2021 at the age of 66 after a hard-fought battle with COVID-19.
Chuck was born in New Orleans, LA, to parents Charles and Leonie Collmer. He had two sisters, Noel Collmer Smith and Susan Collmer Spratley. After spending most of his childhood growing up in Pascagoula, he graduated from Pascagoula High School in 1972. He went on to study and complete a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Southern Mississippi.
After graduation, he began his career as an Accounting Manager at First Chemical Corporation, where he remained until he retired.
In 1982, he met Rosemary Collmer. They wed in 1987 and went on to have their only child, Warren Collmer.
Chuck loved listening to live music, watching the Saints and the Braves, and spending time with family and friends. More than anything, he loved being a father and grandfather. He dedicated most of his years to traveling between sporting events, coaching his son’s baseball teams, and helping the people he loved pursue their dreams. He will be remembered for his kindness and his quiet humor, but most importantly, he will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend.
Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Warren Collmer and Leonie Noel Collmer. He is survived by his son, Warren Collmer; former wife, Rosemary Collmer; sisters, Noel Collmer Smith and Susan Collmer Spratley (Doug); step-granddaughter, Kaitlyn Mallory Pry; nieces, Mindy Nash (Bo), Rosemary Waldrip (John), and Noel Spratley; and great niece and nephews, Fisher, Saylor, and Whitman.
