Chief Petty Officer, Roy Thomas Talbott, U S Navy Retired, Age 76, of Gulfport, MS, passed away Wednesday, November 14, 2018, in Gulfport. He was born in Colcord, Oklahoma and had been a longtime resident of the MS Gulf Coast. He graduated from high school in 1960 and held an Associates Degree. He retired from the U. S. Navy with over 20 years of service, during which time he received many honors, awards and citations including National Defense Medal, Vietnam Service Campaign and four times the Good Conduct Medal to mention a few. After retirement from the navy he was employed with Lockheed-Martin and retired with awards and citations also. Spending time with his family was top priority, but restoring and showing cars and “custom rod” exhibitions was enjoyable for him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Orval and Dorothy Talbott, and a sister Joyce Ann Blair. Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Jean Talbott; children, Jeff Talbott, Paula Parsons and Adam Talbott; two grandchildren, Jimi Brew and Tyson Broyles; three great-grandchildren, Skyden, Shaynne and Shelddon; sister, Wilma Jenkins; brother, John Talbot and his wife Donna; and his beloved dog, Lady.
Visitation is Monday, November 19, from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, 2511 Pass Road, in Biloxi. A procession will leave the funeral home at 12:10 p.m. for graveside services at 12:30 p.m. at Biloxi National Cemetery with military honors.
