Curtis Brian Snider

Curtis Brian Snider, 63, of Queen City, Missouri and Gulfport, Mississippi passed away Monday, August 23, 2021 in Gulfport MS. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford Snider and Lola (Wheeler) and two infant brothers Douglas and Joseph. Curtis was born September 26th, 1957, in Kirksville, Missouri. He graduated in 1975 from Schuyler R-1 High School in Lancaster, Missouri. On June 26th, 1976 he married Leonetta (Talbert) of Queen City, who survives, as does their daughter, Kimberly Snider (David Hamilton) and David’s Children Eimile and Dustin of Des Moines, Iowa. He is also survived by brothers Clayton (Cindy) of Greentop, Missouri and Carl (Latisha) of Queen City, Missouri. He is also survived by numerous Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. Curtis started working at a young age on the family farm as well as assisting his parents with their oil business. After high School he was an apprentice dragline operator at Missouri Mining in Putnam County. He also raised hogs for several years before going into trucking in 1980. He started off with hauling machinery on a flatbed, then began to haul bananas out of Gulfport Mississippi. This gave him the knowledge to start his own trucking company that grew into truck line with over 70 trucks. After his truckline was established, he began looking for his next challenge and after building a dock, began to transfer his own banana loads. He is now doing not only his own transfers but also transferring for other companies. Curtis seldom took time off from work but when he did, he especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends, being on the water and taking care of his farm in Northern Missouri. Curtis was passionate about helping his family, friends, employees and business associates. He thought of everyone working at or with his company as part of his expanded family and did everything he could to help anyone in need. He will be sorely missed by many who have been touched by his kindness and generosity. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 31, 2021 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home on 15th Street in Gulfport.
