Dale Robert Edwardson

Dale Robert Edwardson was born January 16, 1951, in Edgerton, WI, to Charles and Marjorie Edwardson. He was baptized at Central Lutheran Church and confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church in Edgerton. He graduated Milton College of WI in 1976 and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He later earned a commission and served his country faithfully with honors for over 23 years. Dale served in the Marine Corps. as a Legal Administrative Officer (along with many other duties) and was blessed to meet so many people. He kept a special place in his heart for all veterans and was always willing to listen to their stories and share his stories with them. After his retirement from active duty USMC, Dale married Dr. Mary Cook, and God blessed their union with a son, Dale Robert Edwardson Jr. (DJ), who was the apple of his father’s eye and his “best friend.” He loved his family fiercely and fought hard to stay earthbound with them, until God touched him gently, and told him it was okay to let go. God reminded Dale that HE would never leave him nor forsake him, and he reminded Dale that HE will protect Mary and DJ. And so, on June 7, 2019, Lt. Col. Dale Robert Edwardson, a true leader, followed the orders of our Savior and entered into the loving arms of Jesus. Waiting to meet him in heaven are his loving parents Charles and Marjorie. He leaves behind to celebrate his life, his wife Mary; his son Dale Robert Edwardson, Jr.; four brothers Ken (Julie) of Kansasville, WI, Stanley (Alice) of Edgerton, WI, Tom (Holly) of Madison, WI, and Jim (Vicki) of Edgerton; two sisters Barb (Darrell) Severson of Waunakee, WI, and Linda (Ken) Collins of Franklin, WI; a special friend, prayer partner, and caregiver Mrs. Frauline Bradley; and his forever faithful fur friend Oscar L. Edwardson. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 13, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home in Ocean Springs. Family and friends are invited to gather from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery with military honors.
