Debra "Debbie" Bowman Gibson

Debra “Debbie” Bowman Gibson, age 62, passed away while surrounded by her family on January 26, 2021, from complications of Covid-19. Debbie was a current resident of Gulfport and lifelong resident of the Mississippi Gulf Coast. She was a graduate of MGCCC at George County Campus where she received her LPN degree. In 2001, she graduated from Excelsior College with her degree as a Registered Nurse. Debbie devoted her 38 year long nursing career to assisting, comforting, and serving others. Debbie enjoyed shopping, traveling, reading, crafting, and spending time with her family. She was an avid lover of animals and anything outdoors. She had a smile that could brighten any room and never met a stranger. She was preceded in death by her father, Harold Bowman and brother-in-law, Dennis Tolbert. Debbie is survived by her mother, Bonnie Bowman of Gulfport; her daughter, Laura (Caitlin) Gibson of Gulfport; her son, Perry (Kista) Vaughan, Jr. of Coden, Alabama; her brother, Daniel Bowman of Gulfport; her sister, Peggy Dueitt of Gulfport; her granddaughters, Rachel (Michael) Baas, Carla (Will) Casey, Emily (Tyler) Mason, Sarah (Brian) Boyer, Destiny Vaughan, and Emma Gibson and her seven great-grandchildren, Carter Mason, Benjamin Baas, Parker McGallagher, Jackson Mason, Oliver Baas, John Mason, and Lauren Casey. A private gathering for family to Celebrate Debbie’s life will be held at a later date. Bradford O’Keefe Funeral Home, O’Neal Road in Gulfport, is honored to serve the Gibson Family.
