Delia Gibson Schillinger

Delia Gibson Schillinger, also known as Dolly by her loved ones, 89, passed away November 22, 2021 in her home surrounded by family. Dolly was born March 21, 1932. Mrs. Schillinger served in the British Navy and worked at Keesler Airforce Base Exchange administration. She was involved in Tops and Pokino and loved playing Bingo at the Moose Lodge and VFW. She is preceded in death by her parents, Deliah and Thomas Gilbertson; her children, David Schillinger and Cheryl Schillinger; and siblings, Alex Gilbertson, Thomas Gilbertson, Agnes Hart, Effie Wiggins, and May Dingsdale. Survivors include her husband, Fredrich P. Schillinger; daughter, Louise (Gordon Manni) Appelhans; son, Mike (Tammi) Schillinger; and grandchildren, Michael Collison, Sam Collison, Robert Schillinger, Janie Terry, T.J Appelhans, and Matthew Appelhans. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Ocean Springs. Family and friends are invited to visit Monday, November 29, 2021 at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, Ocean Springs, MS from 5 PM- 7 PM. Interment will take place Tuesday following the service at Crestlawn Memorial Park and a reception will follow at Temple Baptist Church located on Pops Ferry Rd.
