Mrs. Donna Fay Kotsakos, age 63, passed away Monday, November 6, 2017, in Gulfport, MS.
Her love of music began when she was 3 years old and continued throughout her life. Mrs. Donna was born in Gulfport, MS. She and her family moved to Edgewater Park where Donna attended Popps Ferry Elementary School. After their move to Petal, MS she graduated from Petal High School. She obtained a Bachelor’s of Art in Music Theory and a Master’s Degree in Music Education from University of Southern Mississippi. During her long-standing membership with Music Teachers National Association, she served as MS President. Reynolds Town began her teaching career at 21 years old. Donna taught hundreds of piano students across the MS Gulf Coast over 40 years including Cedar Lake Christian Academy and MS Music. She was the owner of Piano Prep Academy at Edgewater Mall in Biloxi where she poured her heart into her students. She truly believed ‘Music is the Portal to the Soul’.
She was a devoted and dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. Her love for family and friends was unconditional.
Mrs. Kotsakos was preceded in death by her parents, John and Idis Anderson Guidry, and her daughter, Ashlie Elizabeth Lauricella. She is survived by her husband, Paul Kotsakos; daughter, Katelynn Leigh Kotsakos; grandson, Conner P. Nguyen, all of Biloxi; sister, Minnie Cawthorn of Petal, MS and her brother, Willard Joe Savage of Biloxi.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 10, 2017 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 2090 Pass Road, Biloxi, MS, where friends may visit beginning at 10:00 a.m. Following the service, family and friends are invited to gather in Parish Hall for fellowship and lunch.
