Donna Dee Hoffman Lady

Donna Dee Lady, 75, of Santa Monica, California, and Ocean Springs, Mississippi, passed away, Wednesday, November 4th after more than a five year battle with cancer. Donna was born in Santa Monica on September 22nd, 1945 to Douglas Hoffman and Lucille Alyea. She graduated from Santa Monica High School in 1962. After graduating high school, she received her AA degree from Santa Monica College and then went to work in the travel industry. On September 10, 1968, Donna married Kenneth Elton Lady in Santa Monica after a whirlwind courtship. They were happily married for nearly 50 years until he passed away in 2016. She was a successful realtor in Santa Monica during the 70s and 80s. Being a people person, selling came naturally to her. Always having a love of travel and adventure though, she would later go back to the travel industry, eventually owning her own travel agency in West Los Angeles for a number of years. Always active in the community, Donna was president of the Santa Monica Optimist Club. She was active with the Santa Monica and Ocean Springs Elks Clubs. She loved community service and believed in helping others with her time. Her biggest focus in life were always on her family and friends. Due to her openness and positivity, people always seemed to gravitate toward her. Everyone who knew her will remember her for her loyalty, sharp mind, generosity, gift of gab, and her love of life. She will be greatly missed. Donna is survived by her son Derek Lady. Services are to be decided at a later date due to Covid. The Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
