Donnie Joe Whittington, 58, of Ocean Springs, MS passed away peacefully to be with the Lord, surrounded by family, on Tuesday, February 20, 2018. Donnie was born in Biloxi, MS on August 9, 1959, to the late Guy Gene Whittington and Annie Parker Whittington. He was a lifelong resident of Ocean Springs, MS, and had graduated from St. Martin High School. He had worked for 28 years at Ingalls Shipbuilding. He was a loving and compassionate husband to Belinda Conner Whittington. He was also a devoted and caring father to his daughter, Jada Whittington; son, Ethan Whittington; and step-sons, Michael Lancon (Miranda) and Donnie Knowles. He enjoyed being a “Papa” to his grandson, Caiden Parker Whittington. Donnie is preceded in death by his sister, Rita Krause and her husband, Bruce Krause, and their son, Curtis Krause; and his brother Ken Whittington. Survivors include his sister, Joyce Canizaro (Vito); brother, Glen Whittington (Kathy); sisters-in-law, Delores Whittington, Brenda Haught (Dan), DeAnne Eichman (David), and Debbie Mancil (Mike); brothers-in-law, Billy Conner (Robin), David Conner (Serera), Wayne Conner (Christy), and Joel Conner (April); and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation for friends will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 26, 2018 in the Pine Bluff Baptist Church located on 140-284 Turner Whittington Road Perkinston, MS, 39573 with a service at 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Pine Bluff Baptist Church Cemetery. “Although we all know you are in a better place, we love you, and will truly miss you.” The Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
