Doris Ison

Doris Rita Capuano Ison, age 90, passed away on Sunday, November 15, 2020 in Biloxi. She was born on February 28, 1930 in Biloxi to parents Phillip Joseph Capuano and Bessie Marie Toups Capuano. She was known for her green thumb and spent many hours working on her garden, often while talking to the plants she cared for. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren thought the world of her, believing her to be the perfect grandmother. She gave them all of her attention and played with them at any opportunity. She even arm wrestled the boys until they were old enough to beat her when they reached their teens. She also loved to sew and teach her Sunday School class. She is predeceased in death by parents Phillip Joseph Capuano and Bessie Marie Toups Capuano, children Sylvia Pauline Ison and Fred L. Ison III, brothers Louis E. Capuano, Phillip J. Capuano, and Joseph Capuano, as well as niece Stephanie Capuano. She is survived by children Carolyn Anne Fritscher, Doris Rita Theisen-Bell, Carolyn Ann Whitescarver, Phyllis Josephine Ison, grandchildren Michael Fritscher, Jeffrey Fritscher, Carolyn Fritscher Moody, Jeani Morris, Laura Ison, Robert Theisen, Michael Theisen, and David Theisen, nieces Kathy Bryan, Julie Capuano, and Laurie Capuano Herring, nephews Louis Capuano, Pete Capuano, Nick Capuano, sister-in-law Jeanette Capuano, and numerous great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Interment will be at Southern Memorial Park in Biloxi.
