Dorothy Dell Rhodes Lenart

Dorothy Dell Rhodes Lenart, lovingly known as “Nana” age 85, of Woolmarket, MS peacefully passed away into the loving arms of our Heavenly Father on Wednesday, May 13, 2020 surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on December 18, 1934, to her parents George John Rhodes and Christine Forehand Rhodes in Biloxi, MS. In her younger years, she was a member of the 4H club and loved riding horses and competing in barrel and pole racing. She spent her career working at the Biloxi and Gulfport V.A. hospitals as a nursing assistant for 16 years supporting our Veterans before her retirement in 1980. Since her retirement, she continued to take care of others and never met a stranger. She never let anyone leave her home hungry especially if she cooked her famous seafood gumbo. She loved music, dancing, traveling and spending precious time with her family, loved ones and friends-old and new. Her smile was infectious and would light up any room. She always loved sharing and reminiscing about her wonderful memories. Her greatest joy was her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her life revolved around them. Her greatest joy and blessings were being a Mother to her children and a very special Nana to her grandchildren and great grandchildren who will carry on her legacy of love and laughter with them forever. She was preceded in death by her only son, Maynard Glenn Lenart, her parents George & Christine Rhodes, her sister and brother in law, Audrey and Henry (H.W.) Deloney, her brother George (G.W.) Rhodes and her great-grandson Michael (M.J.) Glenn Bosarge Jr. She is survived by her daughters, Rhonda Bosarge of Woolmarket, MS and Glennda (Kevin) Yashtinsky of Ocean Springs, MS. Her grandchildren Kevin Bosarge, Michael Bosarge, Doyce (Desiree) Holley Jr., and Amanda (Darrel Jr.) Fincher. Her great-grandchildren, Kyleigh & Ethan Bosarge, Dylan & Adriana Holley, Layla, Evee & Ryker Fincher. She leaves behind her precious fur baby, Ginger, whom she loved dearly. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, other family members and beloved friends. A very special Thank you to Jamie Wynn & Will Powell with PRADA Home Health and Powell House Place. You will forever be a part of our family. To her caregivers whom we love dearly, Thelma, Tina, Tiffany, Tammi, Sea, Lisa, Tamisa, Ashley, and her Hospice of Light nurses, Betty and Stephanie. Thank you to each and every one of you for providing the very best of care filled with love and compassion. Funeral service will be held on Sunday, May 17, 2020 at 12:00 p.m. at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, Howard Avenue, Biloxi. Family and friends are invited to visit one-hour prior.
