Dorothy Jean (Pearson) Narbo

Dorothy Jean (Pearson) Narbo, age 82, of Ridgeland, MS, formerly a longtime resident of Biloxi, MS, passed away at her home on July 4, 2018. Dorothy was born on January 21, 1936 in Florence, MS, the daughter of Earnest and Ora Pearson. Dorothy grew up in Florence and Jackson, MS and moved to Biloxi in 1955 to work as a hairdresser, eventually opening her own beauty salon. She spent more than sixty years living out her life in Biloxi before relocating to Ridgeland one year ago. Dorothy had the gift of a servant’s heart and loved to take care of people. She held a positive outlook on life and a wonderful sense of humor and smile centered around her faith in Jesus. She was the heart of the Narbo family. She enjoyed reading, gardening, cooking, tennis, quilting, shopping and luncheons with her dear friends. She thoroughly loved all types of animals, especially her dogs. Most of all she loved Jesus. Dorothy was a longtime member of First Baptist Church Biloxi where she served for many years in the nursery and was a charter member of Parkway Baptist Church in Biloxi. Dorothy was the wife of the late Lester Narbo, and a devoted and loving mother to Steven and Julie. She was very proud of her family and was excited to become a "Maw Maw” to her four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She will be missed by all that knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her husband of forty-three years, Lester Narbo; her parents, Earnest Pearson and Ora Pearson Lee; and her sister, Louise Lancaster. Dorothy is survived by her son, Steven Narbo and his wife Stacey of Madison, MS, and their children, Eric and Rachel; her daughter, Julie Corey of Biloxi, MS, and her daughters, Devin and Katie; great-grandchildren, Eli and Finlay; and her sister, Ruth Woods of Foley, AL. Family and friends will gather at the Bradford O’Keefe Funeral Home, 675 Howard Avenue, Biloxi, MS on Sunday, July 8, 2018 for visitation at 1:00 p.m. immediately followed by a 2:00 p.m. service.
