Tommy Marin, also known as “Charlie Brown”, age 82, passed away peacefully while at St. Joseph’s inpatient hospice on Wednesday, March 10, 2021.
Tommy was born on July 11, 1938 in Gulfport, MS. He graduated from Gulfport High School and joined the National Guard. Tommy retired from Union Railroad after many years of service.
He will be greatly missed and will forever live in the hearts of those who knew him. Tommy was a long-standing member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Gulfport, MS.
Tommy was preceded in death by his parents, George Marin and Albertine Swinson Marin; sister-in-law, Carol Triplett Marin; and niece, Melissa Marin Turan.
He is survived by his brothers, Ernie (Vicki) Marin of Wiggins, MS and Rudy Marin of Saucier, MS; sister, Ann (Norman) Bennett of Jonesboro, LA; and lifelong friend, Gerald “Jerry” Carnell. Tommy did not have any children; however, he had a large family that he cared for very much, including multiple nieces and nephews along with several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Per Tommy’s wishes, he will be cremated and a small memorial service will be held. Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, 15th Street, Gulfport is honored to serve the Marin family.
