Elizabeth Falls Munro

Elizabeth Falls Munro- Born in Greenwood, MS on August 7th, 1935 passed peacefully to heaven on January 13th, 2019 surrounded by her family. Elizabeth was proud to be from the Delta, but loved her home on the coast. She married Tommy Munro, and they shared 51 years of marriage together. Elizabeth was very active in many organizations including Les Masquees, Billikins (Queen in 1963), Episcopal Church of Mississippi, American Cancer Society, Dogwood Garden Club, Ohr-O’Keefe Museum, Biloxi Planning Commission, and the Salvation Army. She loved tennis, working in the yard, and a spirited bridge game with her friends. She was also known to have a voracious appetite for books and chocolate. Elizabeth came to the coast in 1958 as a guidance counselor at Biloxi High School. She met and married Tommy Munro and began her family on the coast. She returned to the Delta often, but Biloxi was her home. She leaves behind her daughter, Lizana Munro (Townes and Olivia); daughter, Jata Craighill (Rob, Amelie, Christian, Mercer, Lawton, and Stuart); son, Jerry Munro (Bonnie, Grace, Lilly, Aidan and Elena); twin sister, Joann Schmeisser of Memphis, TN; brother, William Falls (Bess) of Webb, MS; and her numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank her caregivers and hospice who helped the family through her departure. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent directly to the Salvation Army: 575 Division Street, Biloxi, MS 39530. She will be missed by her family and friends, but she has an excellent new address. Services will be on Thursday, January 17th, at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Gulfport, MS. Visitation will be from 10 am-12 pm, and the service will be held at noon. Interment will follow at Southern Memorial Park. The Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
