St. Elmo "Sonny" Mallette, Jr., began his journey on January 14, 1950, in the home of St. Elmo Mallette, Sr. and Maggie Vee Fairley Mallette, as their first born son.
He grew up in Vancleave and lived most of his life there. He loved to travel but always thought of Vancleave as home. He enjoyed music, especially a good gospel song. He never met a stranger and always loved telling stories about his life experiences. Blessed with a huge heart and a giving spirit, he loved helping others. He liked to keep things simple. Family was everything to him.
Sonny was welcomed home on January 7, 2019 at the age of 68. He joined his parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and friends waiting to greet him.
He will be forever cherished by his wife Betty, sons, Rusty Mallette (Judy) and Robert Mallette, daughters, Chandra Sommers (Jeff) and Vicki Mallette, stepsons, Randy Stringer and Frankie Stringer, sisters, Theone Moss (Jerry) and Johnnie Miller (Tony), brother, Connie Mallette (Donna), five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Thank you for all the wonderful memories as our husband, daddy, pawpaw, brother, uncle and friend. We will be forever and always….Loving You.
