Emma Jane Rose, born March 20, 1962, went to eternal rest with the Lord, January 20, 2018. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward B. and Vetta (English) Rose. She was also preceded in death by Mr. James Blackledge who held a special place in her heart, who she looked up to as a second father.
Emma Jane is survived by her special cousin Merle Motley and a multitude of other cousins from Holmes County, FL. Emma Jane is also survived by many lifelong friends, the Blackledge family, the Barbee-Davis Family and many other Close Friends including her beloved cat Miss Scarlett. Emma Jane created her own extended family through close friendships and cherished each one.
Emma Jane had a zest for life and a laughter that was contagious. She had the soul of an artist who loved to paint, dance and sing. She lived life to the fullest. In a kind, loving way, Emma Jane connected to people in a way only Emma Jane could.
One of her former teachers and personal friend, Evelyn Webb, said it best, “Emma Jane was a spiritual person. She was filled with joyous laughter, positive thought, a sharing spirit and a desire for healthy living. She blessed us on earth with her gifts, and now she has joined the angels to bless the heavenly host! Now she rests in peace.
There will be a Memorial Service held Thursday, January 25, 2018 AT 1:30 P.M. at Bradford O’Keefe Funeral Home 15th Street in Gulfport where friends may visit at 12:00 p.m. Emma Jane will be buried next to her mother and father at a 10:00 am graveside service at Campground Cemetery in Westville, FL on Friday January 26th, 2018.
