Essie G. Scott

Essie G. Scott, 85, of Ocean Springs, MS passed away Friday, February 2, 2018 in Ocean Springs. Mrs. Scott was a native of Winona, MS and a U.S. Air Force Veteran. She attended MS Gulf coast Community College, William Carey College and the University of Southern Mississippi. Mrs. Scott was a former longtime teacher with the Ocean Springs School System, a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Ocean Springs, where she was very devoted to her Sunday School class and a volunteer at Ocean Springs Hospital as a member of the Auxiliary. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Brenda Kay Bradford; her son, Teddy Wayne Scott; her parents, Ronnie Lee and Mary Nolan Greenlee; her sister, Jeanette Usry; and her brothers, Jessie Greenlee and Jimmy Greenlee. Mrs. Scott’s survivors include her husband of 61 years, Billie “Bill” Scott; her sister, Christine Shurden; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 7, 2018 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm. An 11:00 am funeral service will be held Thursday, February 8, 2018. All services will be held at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
