Florice Barney Green was born on April 15, 1940, to Anna Barnes and A.G. Barney in Gulfport, MS. She attended Turkey Creek School in Gulfport.
She relocated to Los Angeles, CA in the early 1960’s with her aunt Anna Mae Cook. She was formerly married and to the union one child was born.
Florice had great faith in God. She was a faithful member of Shabach Four Square Church in Los Angeles, CA for more than twenty years. She retired as a supervisor with a hotel chain after more than forty years of service. She enjoyed attending worship services and gospel plays with friends.
She relocated to Gulfport, MS in 2010 and resided with her sister Mary Jo Young. She united with the St. John Baptist Church in Gulfport. She enjoyed attending the Senior Center, TV shows, telephone calls with her favorite aunt and family gatherings.
Florice was preceded in death by her only child, Shanna Green Campbell, a godson Conrad Green, her parents and one brother Preston Lewis, Jr. She is survived by her sisters, Mary Jo Young and Patricia Davis, one aunt Irene Ware, all of Gulfport, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her.
A visitation will be held Friday, July 17, 2020, at Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home, 15452 O'Neal Road, Gulfport, from 10 until 11 am, followed by a service at 11 am. Interment will be at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens in Gulfport.
