Forrest Clay Franklin

Forrest Clay Franklin, age 66, of D’Iberville, Mississippi passed away Friday, January 8, 2021 in Gulfport, Mississippi. Mr. Franklin was a long-time resident of the Mississippi Gulf Coast, and a native of Bruce, Mississippi. He was born to William Alvin and Willie May Franklin in Marks, Mississippi. He attended Bruce High School and The University of Mississippi. He proudly served his country in the United States Army as a Military Policeman for eight years, and later in the United States Army Reserves and Mississippi Army National Guard. He was an avid history buff, Jeopardy fan, and poker player. He loved watching the Ole Miss Rebels play ball, and listening to the music of Elvis Presley. He was known for his humor and quick wit. He was a loving father and grandfather and he will be missed dearly by all that knew him. Mr. Franklin is preceded in death by his parents, William Alvin and Willie May Franklin; and siblings, Marie Brown, James William Franklin, Pearl Washington, Alvin Franklin Jr., L.V. Franklin, Morris Franklin, Terry Franklin, and Charles Franklin. Mr. Franklin is survived by his children, Bradley Franklin (D’Iberville, MS), Diana and Dean Jackson (Hamburg, NY) and Brandon Franklin (D’Iberville, MS); grandchildren, Stone Jackson (Hamburg, NY) and Rylee Jackson (Hamburg, NY); sisters, Maline Harrison (Port Richey, FL) and Shirley Eastman (Sarepta, MS); sister-in-law, Minnie Franklin (Pittsboro, MS); and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. A Memorial service to honor Mr. Franklin’s life will be held at Sarepta Baptist Church, 99 County Road 175, Randolph, MS 38864, on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at 11:00am. Military Honors to follow. All family and friends that knew him are invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, friends are encouraged to make memorial contributions to Sarepta Baptist Church, 99 County Road 175, Randolph, MS 38864.
