Francis Alvin “Sonny” Lee, 89, of the Harrison County – Riceville Community, passed away Friday, June 12, 2020 at his home.
Francis attended Kiln School until joining the Army in 1950 where he served as Army Corporal in the Korean War. He then worked at Keesler Air Force Base as a cook for Civil Service for 35 years. After retiring, he went to Royal Maid for the Blind where he assisted the blind. After it’s closure, he went on to work at Shaw’s Fish House doing what he loved, cooking. He also enjoyed fishing. Francis was of the Baptist faith. He was a lifetime member of the J.L. Power Lodge #416, Past Patron of OES at Perkinston Chapter #376 and Pascagoula Chapter #151.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Ruth Shaw; his parents, Francis W. and Minnie Lee; his siblings, Myrtle Smith, Mary Alice Ladner, James Lee, Rene’ Lee, Henrietta Polk, Cleveland “Buddy” Lee and Luther Lee.
Francis is survived by his children, Donald (Pam) Lee, Londa Avin (Kenny Reaume) and Vonda Lee (Robert Burns); his grandchildren, Ronald (Angela) Lee, Penny Larissa (Steven) Keeffe, Sarah (Brandon) Walker, Richard Crabtree and Caleb Avin; five great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and his sister, Dolly (Randal) Fandel.
A Graveside Service for family will be at 10:00 am on Wednesday, June 17, 2020 at the Persimmon Hill Cemetery, 22080 Riceville Road, Saucier, MS 39574.
