Mr. Freddie Fritz Steinwinder, III peacefully passed into the arms of his Heavenly Father on Wednesday, April 24, 2019, in the comfort of his home. He was born in Biloxi, MS and was a 1974 graduate of Biloxi High School.
Mr. Steinwinder was previously employed with the Biloxi Fire Department, Mississippi Power Company where he retired and currently Superintendent of the Bridge and Traffic Department of Harrison County. Freddie's wishes are to thank Timmy Smith and Harrison County employees for their continued love and support. Mr. Steinwinder was of the Catholic faith and a member of Blessed Francis Xavier Seelos Parish, where he served on the parish council. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 1244. In 2016, Mr. Steinwinder was inducted into the Biloxi Sports Hall of Fame. He was a referee and judge of professional and MMA boxing for 40 years. During this time, he not only worked boxing shows along the Gulf Coast, but had the opportunity to travel to Tunica, Las Vegas, Thailand, Scotland, Sicily and Italy.
Mr. Steinwinder enjoyed watching all sports on TV and had a love for playing baseball, softball, bowling and golf. He loved to travel and had a passion for coaching his children and watching them play sports, dance and cheer.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Gloria Steinwinder.
Mr. Steinwinder is survived by his wife of 31 years, Cheryl Ladner Steinwinder; father, Freddie Steinwinder, Jr.; four children, Rachel Steinwinder, Blake Steinwinder, Freddie (Paige) Steinwinder, IV and Julie Rossi; sister, Vonda (Jeffrey) Kovacevich; brother, Brian Steinwinder; and five grandchildren, Finley and Sullivan Steinwinder and AJ, Devyn and Katelyn Rossi.
The family extends a special thanks to Dr. Olivia Hightower and Josh and Liz with Southern Care Hospice for their loving care during his time of need.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday, April 29, 2019 at 11:00 am. at Blessed Frances Seelos Xavier Catholic Church. Friends may visit from 9:00 am until Mass time. Interment will follow at Biloxi City Cemetery.
The Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
