George Nicholas Blazick

Mr. George Nicholas Blazick, Jr., age 73, of Gautier, passed away on Friday, August 14, 2020 at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, MS. George was born on September 27, 1946 in Akron, Ohio to the late Kathryn Yankovich Blazick and George Nicholas Blazick, Sr. He served in the United States Marines where he was awarded with a Purple Heart. He worked at Ingalls Shipyard in Pascagoula, MS from 1979-2012. In his younger years most knew him as Coach George. He loved the game of baseball and being involved with the community. It’s a passion he shared with his son, Tim. George also loved to garden. He shared this interest with his two daughters, Ginny and Julie. After retirement he traveled the United States and abroad often with his wife, Debbie. When at home his favorite thing to do was spend time with and spoil his grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Mark Blazick. Survivors include his wife, Deborah Blazick; children, Virgina (Lane) Gilbert, Julie (Paul) Saucier and Timothy Blazick; grandchildren: Ella Gilbert, Eli Gilbert, Hendrick Saucier and Adalyn Saucier; and siblings: Elizabeth (Hugh) Hively and Nicholas Blazick; and nieces and nephews: Katie Blazick, Nicholas R. Blazick, Jr. and Michael J. Blazick, Sr. A private family visitation and service will be held. Private interment will be Friday, September 4, 2020 at Biloxi National Cemetery.
