George Louis Kostmayer, Jr., age 82, passed away in Biloxi on Monday, July 16, 2018.
A long time resident of the MS Gulf Coast, George was born in New Orleans, LA on October 23, 1935. He was a graduate of De La Salle High School and Louisiana State University.
Throughout the years, George had several hobbies. Raising racing pigeons held his interest for several years. For the last 40 years, he was intensely involved in genealogy research. He loved to travel and enjoyed many family vacations in the continental U.S. After his retirement in 1995, he was able to expand his love of travel to overseas.
He is preceded in death by his parents, George Louis Kostmayer, Sr. and Marie Louise Castro.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Joan Kostmayer; four children, Kim Simmons, David (Sharon) Kostmayer, Anne (Danny) Davis, and Mary Dio; seven grandchildren, David, Matthew, Jonathan, Jessica, Elizabeth, Julia Kostmayer, and Theresa Dio; sister, Doris Aicklen; and nieces, Lynn (Jeff) Franklin, Joann (Richard) Lammons, and Mimi (Michael) Cleary.
The family would like to thank Dr. Ben Cheney for his compassion and support in a difficult time.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Friends may visit one hour prior. Interment will follow at D'Iberville Memorial Park.
