Gilleree Bell Rickard

Gilleree “Gil” Bell Rickard, age 79, passed away Saturday March 23, 2019. Gil was born in Escambia County, near Atmore, AL on May 31, 1939 but made the Mississippi Gulf Coast home in 1965. She was a teacher at various elementary schools in the Gulfport School System until the late 70’s. Gil embarked on a new career with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court where she served as a clerk until her retirement in January 2005. She loved her community at the Broadwater and the Sunkist Country Clubs and could often be found on the golf course socializing with friends while playing a round of golf. When she was not on the golf course, she spent time gardening in her yard, and enjoying the beautiful Gulf Coast. Gil was proceeded in death by her parents, Father Gillee F Bell and Mother Barbara “Barbie” Lee Bell of Alabama, her sister Joyce Bell Benson of Brewton, AL. She is survived by her 2 children, Karen Rickard Lemmons (Bill) of Germantown, TN and William Lee Rickard Jr. (Jamie) of San Diego, CA. Her 2 sisters, Helen Bell Carty & Peggy Bell Clements both of Mobile, AL. She adored her 3 grandchildren Annalise M Lemmons, Micah Lee Rickard & Koa Lee Rickard. A Celebration of Life honoring Gil will be held Thursday, March 28 from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm at the Sunkist Country Club, 2381 Sunkist Country Club Road, Biloxi, Ms. In lieu of flowers or donations the family would like for each of you to spend time with your family enjoying a “memory making event.”
