Harold Kris Simondson

Harold Kris Simondson, at the age of 75 years young, passed away peacefully on November 7, 2018. Harold was born in Selkirk, Manitoba Canada. He grew up loving the outdoors, racing motorcycles, snowmobiles and cars. Moving from Canada to the United States as a child, Harold grew up and graduated from high school before joining the USAF, serving his country from March 1961 through March 1969. Returning to civilian life, Harold lived in Illinois and Wisconsin until moving his family to Gulfport, Mississippi. Harold was a very lucky man as he found true love twice in one lifetime. He married Joan Marie Sheeran in Arlington, IL who preceded him in death. Then a breath of fresh air blew in whereupon he found his second true love with his beautiful wife, Ella M. (Edwards) Simondson. Harold worked hard with several different occupations until he became an independent over-the-road truck driver. He loved being out on the open highways. Harold was a very active member of the VFW, post 4526 in Gulfport, MS until health issues caused him to retire from active service. He was also an active member of the DAV. He is a Master Mason and is a member of Orange Grove Masonic Lodge. Harold loved to talk and chat with family, friends and strangers alike. Harold was blessed to have three sons: Jay Bonner of Everett, WA; Kevin Bonner of Ocean Springs, MS; and Justin Edwards of Gulfport, MS. Harold was blessed with seven grandchildren: Linda Bonner, Staci Bonner, Steven Bonner, and Kimberly (Bonner) Kwon, Kristen Bonner, Michael Bonner, and Patrick Bonner. He had five great-grandchildren: Jason McNatt, Jeremy McNatt, Alennah Leth, William Leth, and Harper Lewis. Family, friends and others whose lives Harold has touched are invited to join the celebration of his life at 9:00 am on November 12, 2018 at Biloxi National Cemetery. The O’Neal Road Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. This world was a better place because of Harold. He will be missed by all. I will truly miss my beloved husband.
