Harvey Lemuel Felsher, age 72, passed away on Tuesday, January 21, 2020. Harvey was born September 21st, 1947 on “The Point” in Biloxi, Mississippi to Desmond L. and Gloria Mabry Felsher.
Harvey was raised in East Biloxi and attended Biloxi High School. He would leave to join the United States Army in 1964 where he served as an encryption and linguist specialist for 2 years in the Vietnam War. Upon his return home from Vietnam, Harvey joined the Biloxi Police Department and enrolled at the University of Southern Mississippi. He rapidly rose to the rank of investigator and was assigned as a Narcotics Agent with the United States Department of Justice. He also worked with the Bureau of Marine Resource’s law enforcement division.
Harvey loved his family and doted on his mother Gloria and his sister Margaret before their deaths. He was independent, loyal, and remarkably tough. He will be missed by those people who truly knew him.
Harvey is preceded in death by his parents, Desmond and Gloria Felsher; his siblings, Enez Richardson, Desmond (D.L.) Felsher, John A. Felsher, Margaret Felsher, and Matteo (Matt) Felsher; and two nieces, Victoria (Tori) Felsher and Amanda (Mandy) Felsher.
He is survived by his wife, Melanie; two sons, John Felsher and Kevin Felsher (Crystal); and three grandsons, Parker Felsher, Carson Felsher, and Cooper Felsher. He is also survived by his nephews, Desmond C. Felsher and Matthew L. Felsher; along with countless nieces and nephews whom he loved and adored.
There will be a graveside service at a later date. In lieu of flowers, Harvey asked that you please send donations to his two favorite charities, St. Jude Children’s Hospital or The Wounded Warrior Project.
