Helen “Charlene” Breal Demoruelle, age 65, died Saturday, November 18, 2017.
Charlene was born and raised in Biloxi, lived with her husband and children in Ocean Springs and spent her last 5 years in D’Iberville. She was a 1970 graduate of Biloxi High, worked as a telephone operator for South Central Bell and was employed for 15 years with the Biloxi School District until having to medically retire.
Charlene was a feisty, hilarious and crazy character. She did not sugar coat anything as she was known to speak her mind. She loved Coca Cola, angels, the color green, Point Cadet and St. Michael Church. She was a Catholic in faith and attended mass regularly until she was physically unable.
Charlene was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Demoruelle; parents, Jack and Audrey Breal; sister, Gloria Lessner; in-laws, Mackey and Gertrude Demoruelle; sister-in-law, Barbara Demoruelle; nephew, Brandon Breal; and brother-in-law, Robert Leathers.
Charlene is survived by her loving daughters, Mary Helen (Timm) McKean and Natalie Demoruelle; grandson, Liam; granddogs, Fiona, Gemma and Meadow; her sisters and brothers, Deborah (Jim) Compton, Chuck (Anna) Breal, Jeffrey (Airie) Breal, Darnell Leathers, Lisa (Dale) Grimshaw and Freddie (Carol) Breal; brother-in-law, Ron Lessner; cousins, Jacklyn (Delma) and Dyane Held; sister-in-law, Betty Strong; and numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws and cousins.
A very special thank you to Carol (Michael) Redmond for caring and loving Charlene for the last 5 years and her nurse, Gloria Kostmayer.
